Roll with Me Self Treatment Workshop 2/17/19 12:30-2pm
This therapy ball soft tissue treatment workshop will focus on low back, core, hips, and glutes. If you spend a lot of time sitting, the soft tissues of the hips get restricted and tight, causing discomfort up through the back and down through the legs. Participants will learn how to mobilize the hip capsules and clear impingements in the hip joints, as well as relieve stiffness of the low back, glutes, and hips. These techniques are great for activities that require a lot of hip mobility, including weight training, running, biking, basketball, gardening, skiing, and of course, yoga! Book now!
New Gentle Yoga class with Susan Fridays 10:30-11:45am
This class focuses on slow, alignment-based yoga that is suitable for all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. Students are encouraged to modify poses as needed to take care of tender joints and support optimal posture. Class includes floor and standing poses that develop stability and strength, and gentle flow sequences that help balance and mobility. We end with stretches, restorative postures, and guided relaxation. This class is perfect for practitioners of all levels who are looking for a gentle, slow-paced practice. This class is also great for beginners who want a slow and detailed introduction to yoga. Book now!
February is Rewards for Restorative month! Get 25 Ananda rewards points for each Restorative Yoga class attended!
Restorative Yoga is a quiet and still practice where the body is supported by props in gentle reclining and seated yoga postures. Bolsters, blankets, sandbags, straps, and blocks are used to bring the body into gentle stretches and releases that are held for up to 10 minutes per posture. This creates the space for deep relaxation in the body, deep calm in the mind as well as an opportunity for breathwork. Restorative yoga is for all levels of yoga practitioners, including beginners, experienced practitioners, and those recovering from injury. Book now!
