Beginner Yoga Series Class
Dates: Wednesdays June 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, July 5th, and 12th.
Are you interested in trying yoga, but don't know where to start? Justine's six-week Beginner Yoga series from Wednesdays June 7th-July 12th, 7:30-8:30pm will start from the beginning - the breath - and then progress systematically through many accessible yoga postures, including standing postures, seated postures, reclining postures, and flows with the breath. Justine provides a fun, non-intimidating atmosphere for new practitioners to explore the beginning of their practice.
This class is for all shapes, sizes, levels of strength, and levels of flexibility. You don't have to already be flexible to practice yoga!
Unlike a usual yoga class, these workshop-style classes will encourage participants to "speak out" and ask questions about the postures and how they feel in their bodies, and participants will also learn modifications to each posture to help it feel good in their own body.
By the end of the series, participants should feel confident to attend regular drop in classes, be familiar with the kinds of postures that are offered in the various styles of classes at Ananda Yoga, and also have the knowledge to start developing a short home practice.

Series classes policy: Signing up for a series class is a commitment to take all the classes in the series. Series classes are non-refundable. No refunds will be provided for any reason. One missed class in the series can be credited as a drop in class for any other class at Ananda Yoga, but no further missed classes will be credited.
Yoga for a Happy Neck and Shoulders

Do you suffer from chronic neck or shoulder tightness, stiffness, or pain? Or does using your computer/tablet/phone seem to be taking its toll on your body? Join Justine for Yoga for a Happy Neck and Shoulders Workshop on Sunday, July 30th from 1-3pm. This workshop will give you simple tools you can use at home or work to feel better through the neck and shoulder girdle. With a combination of active and passive yoga postures, simple stretches, and mobility work with balls or rollers, participants will learn how to "unkink" the neck and shoulder area, and build the strength and stability to keep it unkinked. This workshop can help with tension headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, and will also help improve participants' seated and standing posture. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of practitioners, including those who are new to yoga!

Candlelight Flow with Live Music
Experience the unique energy of yoga practiced with live music! Join Justine and Alvaro in a lunar flow-inspired class lit only by candles and flowing to the gentle rhythms of the Spanish guitar! This slow-moving class is appropriate for all levels and will be both invigorating and restorative. What a wonderful way to recharge and treat yourself as we move into a busy holiday season.
Alvaro Olvera Sánchez is a flamenco guitarist specializing in authentic Spanish Flamenco guitar, rumbas of the Gypsy Kings, and traditional guitar melodies from Latin America. Originally from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico, Alvaro has played professionally for many years. He has played locally in concerts, private parties, and restaurants.

Take your yoga practice to your office with our Yoga for Cube Dwellers workshop! Justine will guide you through different ways to take a "yoga break" to recharge and refresh you during your work day. We will practice postures and short flows that can be done while seated in your office chair or using the chair as a prop. We will also work on short standing sequences that can be done within the confines of your office or cubicle. Postures will include shoulder and wrist releases for computer users, hip and low back focused postures to release tension that is created by sitting for several hours a day and breathing practices and short meditations to help get through especially stressful days with grace.
