Amy has been practicing yoga since 2006, exploring different types of movement and breath-centered practices. She gravitated to Ashtanga Yoga, and became proficient in the Primary Series as well as Second Series. Amy became certified as a 200-hour yoga teacher in 2012 through Beryl Bender Birch's The Hard and The Soft Yoga Institute, doing a thorough study of the history of Ashtanga, traditional breathing modalities, anatomy, and asana teaching methods. Craving a change a few years ago, Amy started learning Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga flow, and studied with Leah Cullis and Bryan Kest.
Amy has taught gentle yoga, Power Vinyasa, and Ashtanga in various studios around the Valley, including Ashtanga Yoga Northampton, and Northampton Athletic Club. Her interests include knitting, crochet, sewing, hiking, snowshoeing, and of course, practicing yoga!
